We provide specialist palliative care to people with life-limiting illnesses

Story

Hollyoaks actor Gerard McCarthy is showing his support for Northern Ireland Children's Hospice by taking part in an abseil down Belfast's most famous building, the Europa Hotel, on World Hospice Day 6th October 2007.

Northern Ireland Children's Hospice is part of Northern Ireland Hospice Care which provides respite and end of life care for patients with life limiting illnesses.  The Children's Hospice provides specialist care to children aged 0-18 who have life limiting conditions such as genetic disorders, heart conditions, muscular dystrophy or cancer.

Often these children need 24 hour care which can put an enormous strain on their families.  Northern Ireland Children's Hospice provides a safe, fun environment for these children to come and take part in various activities such as art and music therapy, whilst giving their carers a well deserved rest.

Gerard is asking all his family, friends & fans to dig deep and sponsor him online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor: Northern Ireland Hospice Care will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor him now!

Many thanks for your support.
