You may have just visited my NASS page but prefer to donate to Help For Heroes, or even to both! They are two great charities and I'll do my best to run the Virgin London Marathon and raise lots of money! It's the least we can do to support all the Forces who are unselfishly putting themselves at risk in Afganistan.

I have been running Marathons and other distances since I was 20 and in the Royal Air Force. (I'm 48 now). In 1990 I was diagnosed with AS (Ankylosing Spondylitis, a chronic form of arthritis) but I managed to keep going. I'm not as fast as I was then but I get round and suffer later! My PB is 2hrs 48mins, back in my RAF days, when I was a lad! Still, I managed 3hrs 38mins in Berlin 2005.

 I have just completed the Silverstone Half Marathon 2010 in 1hr 37mins. Only 5 weeks to go now, so I hope my body holds up till then! 

Every £ counts and makes my pain worthwhile, so any donation, whatever amount, will be greatly appreciated.

PPS. I'VE DONE IT!!!!! 03:55:59. Fantastic day, really well organised and the crowds were brilliant support! Thank you all for your encouragement and your money!! I can hardly walk this morning but it was worth it. On May 4th at 0900, the applications are open for 2011......I may just go for it! G
