On the 31st January 2009 I intend to set off on a marathon coastal walk around the United Kingdom with my two black labradors Phoebe age 6 and her son Sumo age 2. I will be walking in an anti clockwise direction starting and finishing on the Solent at my home town of Warsash. The walk will take about a year to complete and will cover a distance between 6000 and 7000 miles.

This walk has been a dream of mine for some 10 years and the starting day is looming fast. My adopted charity St Dunstans have been close to my heart for over 25 years since my days with the Fleet Air Arm Field Gun Crew.

I will be walking the coastal path carrying everything with me including tent, sleeping bag, food and cooking equipment and do not intend to take ferries or short cuts. Follow my progress on my website www.lakerscoastline.org
