Story

                            Swimming for Malc

Malcolm was a close friend, training partner and keen athlete.  Dedicated to teaching young  kids how to swim and big kids how to have fun while training.

He was unfortunately diagnosed with a rare case of skin cancer last year, and while the royal Marsden helped with treatment he unfortunately died in December of last year.

I had discussed swimming the channel with malc on a number of occasions throughout the years and when he became ill we decided that I would swim in his name, in order to help raise funds for the Royal Marsden Melanoma Research fund.

The English Channel is 21 miles in a straight line but with the pull of the tides the swim will be more like 25 miles plus.  I am looking at swimming for approximately 16 hours in waters of 15 degrees centigrade and Mike a.k.a. Batman is looking forward to covering me in a mixture of lanolin and vaseline!!!

HAPPY DAYS!!!
