Story
First of all, thanks SO MUCH for taking the time to visit this page in support of Stand up for Africa (SUFA)!
This appeal is to keep the Bohicon Maison de l'Enfance centre open for another year.
The Maison de l'Enfance (house of childhood) project in Benin, West Africa, is just one of SUFA's incredible projects. It supports children who are at serious risk of trafficking, who have been orphaned and are living on the streets, or whose families cannot afford to support them and therefore arrange early marriages for them or send them out to work. Working with their local partner ESAM, Enfants Solidaires d'Afriques et du Monde (solidarity for children of Africa and of the world), SUFA give each child a safe home, health care and an education. With that support, they can grow into confident, independent adults who have the education and skills they need to break from the cycle of poverty.
The project requires £1145 a month to stay open and provide food, shelter, education, electricity, water and clothing for the children living there. That's £38 a day to keep 30 children safe, or £1.27 a day to secure the well-being and future of one child, or less than a standard cafe latte.
ANYTHING you can donate will help so please dig deep!!! Any donations made via this site go straight into the charity's account so you'll be helping right away. It's fast, simple and secure and you can make donations via Paypal or using a debit or credit card. The target is to raise enough to keep the centre open for another year, so let's work together to make this happen!
You can donate through JustGiving page from ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, as long as you have a credit/debit card or a Paypal account. Donations can only be made in pounds sterling (£ GBP), so you need to work out how much you want to donate in pounds, and JustGiving will debit your card or Paypal account with the equivalent amount in your local currency. Here's one of the many currency conversion websites that can help: http://www.xe.com/ucc
Thank you in advance!
