We carry on Jane's legacy to support children and people with cancer

Story

On September 4th 2010, Amateur Cyclist, Andrew Fitzgerald will attempt to cycle solo 2500km from Gibraltar to his home town in Yorkshire. The event is to raise money for Jane Tomlinsons Cancer Appeal.

The Jane Tomlinson Appeal has raised over £3 million to date. Charities such as the Yorkshire Cancer Centre, The Leeds Training Hospitals, Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice, Cancer Research UK, Macmillan and more have benefitted from this great cause.

Jane Tomlinson is a huge inspiration to me. She was an amateur athlete who raised £1.85million for charity by completing a series of athletic challenges, despite suffering from terminal cancer.  This included several long distance cycle rides.  The Jane Tomlinson appeal now has a target of raising £5 million in her honour.

Everyone has been touched by cancer. These great charities make a difference.  I am cycling this route because I have family who are still with me today, thanks to efforts in researching and treating cancer.  I am also cycling this route because sadly I also have family who arent still with us today.
