About our charity : Dorothy House Hospice Care Dorothy House Hospice Care
Every day Dorothy House Hospice Care supports and cares for more than 800 families affected by cancer, and other life threatening conditions, either in the comfort of their own homes or at the hospice in Winsley. All patient care is free of charge, funded by the generosity of local people, with some contribution from the NHS.

Our personal message:

Yes, this is no spoof! Giles, Andrew, Peter and Richard are giving up all bad things in life and are running the Bristol Half Marathon on 14th Sept 2008 to raise money for the wonderful Dorothy House Hospice!

As many of you know my darling sister, Peter's dearest cousin, Richard's teenage pin-up and Andrew's great school friend, Lisa, lost her fight against cancer and passed away 3rd June 2006 aged 37. Lisa was diagnosed 4 months earlier with a rare incurable form of cancer, which she fought with huge determination, courage, grace and humour. We all miss her terribly.

Dorothy House Hopsice looked after Lisa so well for 2 weeks before she died. They gave her the best possible pain-relief and 24hr care, with huge love and support (better than any hospital). In fact, they were so wonderful she once let it slip and called Dorothy House "Home" - the best compliment there is, i think.

Dorothy House relies completely on charitable donations, so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SPONSOR US and help them continue their fantastic work. I cannot tell you what a huge difference they make.

Also, it will give Lisa and Richard Taylor a good laugh to see 4 unfit fatties wobble around Bristol!

We are aiming for quite a high total of £5000, so every donation, however small, will be a huge help.
