You may or may not know but last year I lost someone very special, my dear Dad (Robert Adair) to cancer. I had never come across hospices really before that and must admit I had my own preconceived ideas about them. I thought the hospice would be a depressing and upsetting place however I couldnt have been more wrong. When My Dad was admitted to St Ann's hospice I met first hand a group of selfless and truly caring individuals whose primary goal is to make the final days of someones life as dignified and as comfortable as they can and to support their family as much as possible. Yes its devastating to lose someone you love but I can honestly say my Dad couldn't have been cared for any better anywhere else and for that I want to thank them.
The other thing that I wasnt aware of is just how much money St Anns hospice has to raise just to stay open... a staggering £16,000 each day!!!! Therefore to say thank you and because as a family we wanted my Dad to live on and we decided to set up a tribute fund with St Ann's. In order to raise more money for the tribute fund 'Robby's Bobby Dazzlers' (aka myself, Ged and John Burns, Rebecca, Laura and Charlotte) are doing the St Ann's Hospice 10K Manchester Midnight Walk on June 12th.
I know no one has much spare cash at the moment but anything you can spare will be really gratefully welcomed.
Thanks so much for all your support
