We are extremely sad to announce the death of Gill Astarita, Chief Executive of VRH since 2004.  Gill was a passionate, fearless and charismatic leader who steered the organisation through many changes and motivated and inspired the staff team and volunteers to support many more children.

Gill will be remembered as a dynamic fundraiser, energetic leader and tireless campaigner, working for a number of causes in a crusade for social justice.

Gill had an amazing sense of humour and her ability to laugh in the face of adversity will always be admired.  Her laugh was infectious and her office was often filled with mighty roars of laughter.  VRH is a sadder organisation without Gill, but a far better one because of her.
