Story

19/02/09

mmm I dont think I am very good at this update thing except when it comes to accidents.

Yesterday morning I came off my motorbike I would say about 10 minutes away from work - thanks to a mini cab driver.... So now I am walking around like an elderly lady that needs her walking stick.  At least no broken bones only very stiff and swollen and grazed knee and of course a little damaged self-esteem.  I am sure I will be up and running in no time again and the stresses of raising money and what clothing too take with will come back ........

Thank to everyone who has donated on this site and in person, everything is appreciated.

11/11/08 - I thought its time I updated my page......

While I was in process of getting my fitness levels up, I was riding my horse trying out some jumps and lets put it this way, it did not go exactly to plan.  I landed on the floor and broke my wrist, so I have had a cast on my arm for 6 weeks and am now slowly recovering.  Instead of driving to the stables I walk (weather permitting - and yes I know the weather is going to be less than perfect heading towards base camp) and once my wrist is fully recovered I will start cycling again and getting on my beloved Fellow and start riding again ( get back in the saddle like they say...)

I still feel very apprehensive about the trip and feel this is going to be a extremely hard challange to complete...... Thank you to everyone that has sponsored me so far......

Who would of thought.........well definately not me!!!

It all started with that famous parachute jump in July 2006 with two of my colleagues.  Sitting in the plane thinking how scared I was then........O but how the journey had only just began!

In February 2008 I took a huge leap forward and took on the Andes trekking on horseback from Argentina to Chile.  That took 8 months worth of riding lessons, squeezing the gym in where I could and alot of tears and tantrums.... I suffered altitude sickness, claustraphobia in the tents and alot of tears.  The trip was hard but rewarding and it was all for charity.

But NO I am a glutton for punishment and surprise surprise guess where I am going in May 2009.  Yes I am trekking up to Everest Base Camp.

And I thought the Andes was a challenge............

The nervous laughing and feeling sick has not subdued yet, however it has only been 3 days since I agreed.  I am sure once the training starts I will start feeling better about the situation......mmm or maybe not....

I am doing this to raise money for Show Racism the Red Card - The campaign against racism in football and society.

Thank you for visiting my page...... and I will try and keep it updated as I go.

The aim is to try raise as much money as possible for this worthy cause and in additon as much support from everyone as possible.
