Girls' night in for Ruby Roo · 23 May 2015

Donations are paid into Solving Kids' Cancer’s general funds for our charitable activities. We help families affected by neuroblastoma through the provision of support and information; as well as investing in research and advocating for access to better treatment

Story

***For guests of the Girls' Night In for Ruby Roo***

This page is linked to a private gathering that I am having for friends and family living locally, in order to raise money for Ruby Laura Young...

Rather than making donations to Ruby's general page, I wanted to set up this page so that we as a group can more easily work together, to reach (and smash) the £100 fundraising target that I have set.

If you are not a member of this event but have stumbled upon it and would like to make a donation towards Ruby's treatment, please go to Ruby's Just Giving page:

Thank-you

Party guests:

Ruby is a little girl living nearby in Rainham (Kent) with stage 4 neuroblastoma. Some of you will already be familiar with her situation, as Ruby's family and friends have been hard at work raising money for her treatment.

There are various treatments available for neuroblastoma on the NHS but neuroblastoma is a particularly aggressive childhood cancer and the treatments available here are not always successful. There are more treatments available in the USA, but of course, there is a massive cost to such treatments.

Ruby's family and friends have raised a lot of money for the Neuroblastoma Children's Cancer Alliance UK (NCCA UK), a charity that will hopefully fund Ruby's treatment in the States, if she needs it. If Ruby responds to her treatment under the NHS, the money will be spent elsewhere in the fight against neuroblastoma.

I have been touched by Ruby's story and would like to do something to raise some money for her treatment. I've decided to have a girls' night in, with various fun activities throughout the evening as well as a raffle and auction to raise at least £100 for Ruby Roo.

Party guests, please dig deep and give what you can.
