In 2005 I managed to raise over £970 (inc gift aid) by doing 2 Race For Life events, and then the 10km Cancer Research UK 10 run at Sandringham in October.

I was overwhelmed by both the number of people who particpated at these events and by the sponsorship and support that everyone gave me.

I decided that I wanted to raise more money for charity, but this time a different charity...

Everyone who knows me will know how animal mad I am. Not to mention my ever growing collection of pets incuding many 'unwanted' animals that we have taken on. This time I have decided to run for Hearing Dogs For Deaf people becuase most of the dogs they use come from rescue or are dontated as unwanted pets.

These dogs are then trained to alert their owners to every day sounds such as doorbells, alarm clocks, babies crying, smoke and fire alarms. Not only do they provide greater independance for the owner they also provide them with much needed companionship.

Hearing Dogs receives no government funding and relies solely on the generosity of individuals and organisations in order to keep helping deaf people and unwanted dogs. So please, dig deep and sponsor me online.

This time I am running the adidas Silverstone Half Marathon 13.1 miles!!

Training:

Training has been going well. I finally managed the full half marathon distance on Feb 26th at a slow but steady pace.

I've also taken part in 2 10km SiS runs. One in Woburn and one in Dunsfold and managed chip times of 01:02:22 and 01:00:00 respectively.
