Great Scottish Run 2008 · 7 September 2008 ·

500 miles helps people in Malawi & Zambia who have impaired mobility as a result of amputation, deformity, illness or accident by supplying artificial limbs and splints & braces for all-comers, but especially the poor. Our focus, through training, is development of sustainable in-country services.

Story

We are four ladies taking part in this years Great Scottish Run in Glasgow on 7 September 2008.

Aileen and Helen are tackling the half marathon and Sherine and Sandra the 10K.

Aileen is a lawyer based in Glasgow and attempting only her second half marathon in ten years. She is hoping to finish in under two hours.

Helen is a GP based in Aberfeldy and is aiming to do the race in one and a half hours.

Sandra is a physiotherapist from Glasgow attempting to beat her previous time of one hour three minutes in the Ladies Glasgow 10K run in May this year.

Sherine is a consultant dermatologist from Glasgow hoping to beat her previous time of 53 minutes in the Ladies Glasgow 10K run.

We are all running to raise money for 500 miles in the hope that our efforts will make life a little easier for those who have lost limbs and who are, in turn, helped by the efforts of 500 miles.  To find out more about the work of 500 miles please have a look at their website on www.500miles.co.uk.

Many thanks for you support.
