Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Last year my mum died of bone cancer, after a shockingly short battle with the illness. In June she was on holiday in Greece with me and her beloved grandchildren, apparently in good health, and by August she was dead. Mum was fit and strong, and only a few months before had spent 2 weeks walking in the Himalayas. Cancer is a terrible and savage disease, and it took away someone who was hugely loved not just by her family, but by everyone she met.
Although her illness was too brief to take advantage of the wonderful support that Macmillan provides, Mum had spent her whole working life as a nurse, so this charity seems entirely appropriate, and in memory of mum I want to raise as much money as I can for Macmillan Cancer Support, by putting myself through 5 arduous events over the course of 2009. All the details are on my website: www.runglassonrun.com - and I hope when you see what I'm intending to take on, you'll think it's worth a few quid to sponsor me. It's all about raising money, so I'd like everyone who can afford it to pledge £100, which is just £20 per event. If you can't run to that, then whatever you can give will be hugely appreciated.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you for your support.
