Wooden Spoon is the children’s charity of rugby. Our vision is that through the power of rugby every child and young person across the UK & Ireland, no matter what their background has access to the same opportunities.

Story

The Great Lakeland Challenge 2009 is an extreme triathlon which involves conquering the longest, steepest and highest challenges in England.

As a team, we canoed the 10.5 mile length of Windermere, cycled 26 miles up the steepest mountain road pass and then ran 8.5 miles to the summit of Scafell Pike (and down again).

We finished in 8th place (out of 26 teams) after 9 hours but we were the 5th fastest team overall, taking just under 8 hours to race all 3 stages.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Wooden Spoon gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thanks to all who have sponsored already and please continue to donate if not. We are nearly there!!
