Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As I'm sure you've all heard, at Christmas last, some drunken fool who'd had too many Babyshams, came up with the bright idea to run the ToughMudder event in Scotland as he was nearing (not that close) 40 and with a baby due any day, signing up for probably the most energy and time demanding adventure known to man was a really brilliant idea!!  Now, not wanting to be the only ‘Belly’ on the event, this spark managed to enlist a group of similarly foolish friends to share the pain. .... Well that fool now needs to put his money where his mouth is and with 9 weeks to go I really should join a gym!

For those of you that don't know, "Tough Mudder" is a gruelling 11 mile assault course designed by a team of crack masochists with some horrendous obstacles in our way; ranging from fields of fire, pits of stinging nettles, the Scottish, freezing rivers & electric shocks to name but a few.  It’s known for being probably the worlds toughest race and preaches the mantra "marathons are for pussies".  That’s me all over…

Now we’re certainly not your conventional Tough Mudders.  We are a group of mates more adept at getting drunk, talking about going to the gym/protein shakes and generally still living like we're 23 than embracing a training regime more suited to ‘Special Forces’.  So, for the last few months drinking has been replaced with boot camp, lots of running, weight training and eating mung bean & Tofu salads !!  Given the fact we all like a drink, and I bloody love a Kentucky Fried Chicken, this has been a monumental sacrifice.

What this all boils down too is I need your support.

 


The cause we've chosen is "Together for Short Lives" which is a hospice and support organisation that helps kids and families who sadly are not expected to reach adulthood. They really do fantastic work and its a real honor to be able to help in any way.

Your potential donation will help to ensure that all life-limited and life-threatened children, young people and their families, have the best quality care and support from the moment of diagnosis, for as long as they need it.

So, Dig Deep! this is gonna hurt me a hell of a lot more than it is you but it's so worth it to give these kids and their parents as much time together as possible..

Your donations will make the electrocutions, the nettle stings, the Scottish, the claustrophobic under-water-pipes & Turds Nest (my personal favourite) and the distinct possibility of getting beaten up in Glasgow on our night out afterwards, all well worth it.
