Thank you for visiting the What's Driving Parkinson's fundraising page. I am James Bowthorpe, an honorary research fellow with the What's Driving Parkinson's team. In 2009 I broke the world record for fastest circumnavigation of the globe by 20 days. I am continuing to raise money for the same cause through various events and challenges. The fundraising campaign aims to reach as many people as possible who think progress of research into Parkinson's Disease has been painfully slow - it was first described almost 200 years ago and no one knows what causes it - so please pass on these details.

My inspiration for taking on these challenges is seeing patients benefit in the clinic we run at The Maudsley and King's College Hospitals. Detailed plans are in place to take the research forward over 5 years, with maximal efficiency. All that is needed is the money. You can learn more about the research by visiting the What's Driving Parkinson's website
