Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I am a complete novice running the London Marathon. I bought my running shoes on 10th September and started training the following week. Starting with fast walks interspersed with running bursts of 30 seconds, I'm now up to 6.2 miles; only another 20 to go!!! I'm mostly training pushing Jack in the buggy, so I'm hoping it'll be easier in the Marathon!!

NEWS FLASH!
On 2nd March I ran the Eastbourne 1/2 Marathon - or should I say staggered - Beachy Head was a nightmare!! A great rest for Mother's Day - I don't think! Three days later I can still barely walk - how am I ever going to manage 26.2 miles?????

I would be so grateful for your sponsorship to encourage me to keep on going.... I'm running for Muscular Dystrophy to support my friend Stephen who has the condition. His wife Polly is also running - I have her to thank for getting me into this mess in the first place!!

Please sponsor me if you possibly can.

LATEST NEWS
2 weeks 2 days to go and I'm getting both excited and nervous! Thank you so much to all of you who have sponsored me - it's a great encouragement. Training is going well - I ran my target of 20 miles last Saturday, and really enjoyed it despite sleet, snow and freezing winds on Epsom Downs! A huge thanks to David who ran with me. I'm now resting and recuperating (and trying to avoid injury!) ready for the last bit of training for the big day.....

VERY LAST LATEST NEWS!
HURRAH!! It's all over!! It's now Tuesday 15th April and the Marathon is finally behind me. It's not sunk in yet, except for the sheer relief of not having to think about running! Polly and I made it to the finish after a very long 6 hours and 14 minutes, but we must have broken the course record for the number of loo stops - 8 in all, including a luxury 'comfort break' in surely the most exclusive hotel on the Isle of Dogs!!! It's good to set a record for something! I really enjoyed the day despite the weather, and it was a priviledge to be there. The support of the crowds was amazing, making me want to be up there next year cheering on somebody else - so how about it, anyone?!!! Thank you again for your support and sponsorship - it's all so much appreciated...

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Muscular Dystrophy Campaign will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Thank you so much for your support.
