Story
Thanks for visiting my page!
I am going to be completing a speed-march (mixture of running and marching) from my home near Southam - Warwks, to the Bootcamp venue I manage in Nuneaton. I am then taking part in an hour long Go Commando Bootcamp session as soon as I arrive....A distance of around 25 miles....and that's without all the running around in the Bootcamp session..... All for Sport Relief!
I will be carrying the traditional Royal Marines speed-marching weight of 21lbs and will attempt to complete the march in less than 5 hours, and fully take part in the Bootcamp session afterwards. This is a big challenge for me as I haven't run for this distance with this weight since completeing my 30 miler over Dartmoor to earn my Green Beret in 2011.
As well as raising money for Sport Relief, I'm also hoping that by completing this event, I can inspire other people to take part in exercise and live a healthy lifestyle...(and maybe even to come and give Go Commando Bootcamp a try!)... After all, if I can speed-march 25 miles and then do a session, then there's no reason you can't spare an hour a day 3 times per week to improve your health and fitness!
I also want to try and back up something which I say to my Bootcampers over at Nuneaton and Leamington: that most of the battle with exercise and fitness is in the mind, if you have a positive, determined attitude and outlook then you will achieve what it is you set out for, whether that's improving your body composition, (the correct way of saying losing weight!) or improving your strength, or simply staying active!
Thanks for taking the time to read ths!
