Our dear son, Godwin Lawson, died from a fatal stabbing on his way home on March 27 2010.  He was 17 years old.

We are struggling to come to terms with the brutality of his death and all we can do now is ensure his memory lives on. Parents should not have to fear their children travelling home on the streets, and young people engaged in positive projects should not be scared to participate due to fears over their safety.

Through Godwin’s Memorial Fund, we will work for the safety and security of our young people.  Our first objective is to raise money to hire mini buses to provide safe transport for the young people who will be participating in the Godwin Lawson HYPE Unity Cup football tournament on July 10th 2010. Godwin was a winning participant in the 2009 HYPE Unity Vup and this year the tournament will be a part of building Godwin's legacy.

The Godwin Lawson Memorial Fund envisages a generation of young people taking the lead over their lives and and their community without their lives beig at risk. we are dedicated to seeing this happen, however we can only build Godwin's legacy with your support.

We thank you for your generosity.

God Bless

The Lawson Family
