Story

250km in 25 days - let's go!

Firstly, thank you for considering donating! Most of you know that I've been dedicated to fitness for several years and I can never really turn down the opportunity for a personal challenge. However, running 10K every day from December 1st until the 25th will truly be a long, hard slog and it's something I've not attempted before.

I've set myself this challenge in order to support 5 year old Gwilym Kidwell who has bilateral Cerebral Palsy and is preparing for a lifechanging spinal operation. The specialist intensive physiotherapy that he needs to be fully prepared for surgery and to ensure the best outcome possible is not available on the NHS and so I'm fundraising so that he can get the physiotherapy he needs. Gwilym's parents are good friends of mine from years ago and we grew up together in South Wales. You can read more about Gwilym's physiotherapy progress and his general journey with Cerebral Palsy as well as follow my progress throughout the month of December on the website I created for this challenge: www.gogwilym250.co.uk

I am planning to run a minimum of 10km a day for 25 days, culminating on Christmas Day with the final run. There will be a mix of Treadmill, Trail and Road runs (25 hours+), depending on weather, injury and, of course, my knees! I'll be posting updates on the www.gogwilym250.co.uk website but you'll also find me featured on Gwilym's Instagram (@gogogwilym) and Facebook ('Go Go Gwilym') accounts. Please 'like' and 'share' whenever you come across the 'Go Gwilym 250' campaign as it will really help to keep me motivated and I know Gwilym and his family will be incredibly grateful for the support.

Let's go!
