Hello and Welcome!

I am running the 2008 Flora London Marathon. Phew! It is going to be a long 26.2 miles, but I am hoping that with your support I can make it, and raise some money for Get Connected in the process.

For those of you that know me, you might know that I volunteer with Get Connected, giving four hours a week of my time to work on the helpline and talk to young people about the problems that they face. At Get Connected we talk to young people about any problem and find them help, connecting them through to other organisations for free. I've found that these young people find themselves in tough situations and I take calls on a whole range of issues, but Get Connected is there to offer support and help and I'm proud to be a part of that.

So I'm 'going that extra mile' by running the marathon and helping Get Connected to raise vital funds. Please join me and give if you can. Why not do something 'extra' yourself as well as donating. You could give up that daily coffee for a week and donate the money saved, run a 5km with 8 friends (meaning you have collectively run 27 miles = a whole team marathon) and donate money raised from that, or just stay in one night and donate your beer money! Whatever 'extra' you do, every little thing helps!
