Our mission is · to provide an effective and efficient charitable first aid service to local communities · to provide training and products to satisfy first aid and related health and safety needs for all of society · to encourage personal development for people of all ages, through training and by membership of our organisation.

My story

Hooray!

It was a lot of work, and my leg muscles were a bit loose for a day or two afterwards. I got round the route in just under five hours. I enjoyed it all. Even the steps at the end up to the reception (and thank you to the St John Ambulance cadet who carried my goody bag!).

Thank you for your support.

Sixteen weeks ago, I could barely run two miles. On Sunday, I'm lining up for the London Marathon. 26 miles and 385 yards (just over 42km).

Please enjoy my pain and support me.

St John Ambulance is an outstanding cause and one which I've been privileged to get to know through working with their staff and volunteers for the last few months.

Across the country, the charity makes a difference, saving lives and improving lives. From help for the homeless (with increasing demand in the recession), to teaching hundreds of thousands of children how to respond in an emergency, running an inspirational youth programme and providing first aid at community and sporting events.

The organisation provides its 43,000 volunteers with the opportunity to contribute time and support to society.

I am covering all administration costs of my place so that every penny you donate will go towards charitable work.

I'm proud to be associated with St John Ambulance and hope you can support me.

(As if running 26 and a bit miles isn't enough, I've been told that if I wear a dress then people will sponsor me more. For you, I'm having a pink tutu made. The photo on the left by the way was taken after about 15 miles.)
