Story
Two years ago whan she was 4 year old my niece was diagnosed with a Mitochondrial Disease.
My Sister and her Husband spent many months at The Royal London Hospital where they were eventually told the devastating news of her condition.
This was an extremely difficult time for them and our entire family as you can imagine.
They were miles away from home and travelling was not an option.
Stevenson House, which is run by The Sick Children's Trust Charity offended them a room where they were given much needed support, home from home comforts and easy access to the hospital, meaning that they could constantly be with their daughter.
Whilst staying at these homes is free of charge, it does cost £30 to support a family for one night. They rely entirely on voluntary donations to meet this cost.
Now how does a Whisky Club and The Sick Children's Trust work. Well we have seen that life is horrible and bad things can happen but everybody needs somewhere to go, just to take a break from it all, feel good and talk to others who may have had or are experiencing hard times. You have to feel your best to be able to be strong to be able to support others and life is not a dress rehearsal it is the real thing.
