My story

You may have heard by now that I AM going to run the New York Marathon 2009!!!

After completing the London Marathon in April 2008, I knew I had the bug to do just one more! With a little help from my friends Kim and Isabel whom I will be running with, I decided that I would sign up for the New York Marathon 2009

After signing up and since the beginning of the year I have been suffering with cartilage promlems and have been unsure if I should run. However, after lots of advice I decide 2 months ago that I was going start training like mad and go for it!! I completed the Great North Run earlier this month and managed to run the whole thing. This gave me lots of extra confidence, to say come hell or high water, I shall be running the New York Marathon!!!

Richard and I have dug deep and are funding our hotel and accommodation, as have my Mum and Dad who will be there in person cheering me on.

I have decide to run for the Mental Health Foundation as the work they do is fantastic, supporting everyone from young children to the elderly – I hope I don’t ever need to take on the support they offer but its surprising just how many people do need the help and support of this great charity.

I have aimed to raise £1500, of which every penny will go to the charity. Anything thing, no matter how small will be very gratefully received and will g a long way in supporting me to do the New York Marathon!!!
