Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our (english) JustGiving page, we also have a Japanese page.

Despite the lack of press coverage of the after effects of the March 2011 Tohoku earthquake, tsunami and nuclear power leak.  There is still a massive amount of work to be done to return the affected towns and communities to anywhere near normality.

According to government figures in December 2012, there are still over 320,000 people who are homeless as a result of this disaster.  Whilst, they may not be living in the streets they are having to live in communal shelters, with other family or on the kindness of strangers.

Civic Force are a charity based in the heart of the affected areas and are normally an emergency response charity.  Due to the scale of the disaster however they are also focused on long term recovery in this case.  When the disaster occured Civic Force were on the scene immediately providing emergency response for medical and food supplies.  They have subsequently built a public bath & temporary housing, they are helping rebuild the local economy and are working alongside many other non-profit organisations to rebuild the communities, return people to their homes and as much as is possible bring back normality to those worst affected.

We will have two pages so that those in Japan can donate in Japanese too.  The target is a joint target between both sites but we would be appreciative of you donating as much as you can.

Whilst giving up drink might not sound like a challenge for other folk, those who know Sakino and I will hopefully appreciate the scale of the challenge ahead of us and donate accordingly.

Basically, the target is £100 per month (which I think is pretty low).. the more we raise, the longer we abstain.. upto a maximum of 6 months.  We will start on 1st of April and for each £100 we raise we will abstain for 1 month, so £300+ is 3 months, £500+ is 5 months and anything above £600 is 6 months.

Please dig deep! If you could donate the amount of money you spend on an average night out then we'll blow the target well out of the water!

Many thanks, ありがとうございます.
