I never imagined that when I opened my big mouth I would be in the position I am today away to hurl myself out of a plane at 10,000ft... One Sunday afternoon chat with my sister Dawn about raising money for charity after our mother’s recent illness and I now find myself in this position. Thankfully I've my sister by my side who will be partaking in the same jump. Dawn unlike myself is relishing the jump and I know her helping hands may come in handy... most likely in the form of a push!!
We have chosen to jump in order to raise money for arthritis research campaign after our mother, Rosemary fell ill with a uncommon form of arthritis known as polymyositis/dermatomyositis. After a period of 4 and half months spent in hospital, she has slowly improved however she has never fully recovered from the disease.
We would greatly appreciate if you could spare some cash to help raise funds for this common disease. Many people in the UK suffer from arthritis, 7 million people at present suffer from some form of arthritis and 19% of all visits to a GP are arthritis-related conditions.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Arthritis Research Campaign (arc) will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Both of us and our chosen charity, arc, appreciate your donation. Any donation will make a difference.
Many thanks for your support.
Gordon & Dawn
P.s Due to the plane breaking (not a good sign! !) our jump has now been Postponed. We have now rescheduled the Jump for the 10th of June..
