The Gorilla Organization works to protect the endangered mountain gorilla in its native habitat. It also works to ensure that local people benefit from their unique natural heritage. The Organization, founded by the late Dian Fossey who lived with the gorillas, is involved in education, conservation and public awareness.

My story

On Sunday the 24th of September I shall be running (along with a few hundred others) 7 kilometres around the City of London dressed as a Gorilla. Additional costume suggestions greatly appreciated.

And I'm not just doing this for kicks, either. It's to raise money for the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund (they do good work!) who're dedicated to saving gorillas (presumably in the same way that missionaries save fallen women - I'm a little sketchy on the details but there's more info here: http://www.gorillas.org).

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. However, you should be aware that JustGiving do take 5% of the money you pledge through this site, so if you're going to see me some time around the 24th, or it'd be convenient to meet up beforehand, and you'd rather do that so that every single penny goes into saving those delicious apes so that future generations can enjoy their juicy flesh, then e-mail me and we'll sort something out.
