The Best For the "Least"
APT is supporting Pastor Daniel's vision for a Christian primary school in Gorom-Gorom, Burkina Faso - a school aimed at providing quality education for the poorest and most vulnerable sector of society.
Progress
The first phase of the school is now nearly finished, at a cost of about £85,000. Three classrooms, two teachers houses, and a block of toilets are completed, and the children are now in the school. The inauguration took place on 6 November 2010. A further house, the school kitchen, and an outside store have also been funded and should be finished by May 2011.
We are now fundraising for Phase 2, which will include three more classes, three more teachers houses, more toilets, headmaster's office, caretakers room, stores, water supply, etc. We estimate we will need at least another £100,000 for this phase.
Please help us build this school by contributing here.
The Vision
The vision is for more than just a building! We aim to provide a school that will give the best to those often regarded as the least, a place where children can learn and grow in a safe and loving Christian environment. Our vision is for a school, open to all regardless of religion, race, or sex, that will be
* Empowering to the poorest:
* Academically excellent
* Socially and spiritually dynamic
* A positive physical environment
* Economic sustainable
