Story
I shouldn't be running the London Marathon. In 2007, I was diagnosed with incurable cancer, and I thought I'd reached the end of the line.
Six years later, I'm still here. My cancer is in remission, and I've learned to love running. Life is good. And its all thanks to the life saving research funded by Cancer Research UK.
For me, running is a way of celebrating my good health, which I no longer take for granted. And its also a way of showing my gratitude to the brilliant scientists who helped save my life.
My chemo regime was tough and scary at times - but it was all worth it in the end. Not every cancer patient is as lucky as I was. We need more research, so that we can find more cures for more patients, and so that future patients don't have to go through the kind of side effects I endured.
Medical breakthroughs last for ever. So they can save countless lives. Plus science is kind of geeky and cool. I can't think of anything more worthwhile to spend money on.

My family, friends, colleagues and clients provided amazing support to me when I was going through treatment, and they've continued to support me ever since with their remarkable generosity in sponsoring my running. Together, we've raised over £7,000 for Cancer Research UK.
