This year I will again be taking part in the London Triathlon in August with the aim of beating my previous times and raising as much money as possible. In addition to racing in the triathlon I’ve also signed up for an outstanding trek to the base camp of the world's highest mountain, Everest trekking to a height of 5,545 at Kalapathar.

The charity I am raising funds for is rYico (Rwandan Youth Information Community Organisation). It’s an organisation that works to support and empower vulnerable young people in Rwanda. In 2005 it established Centre Marembo, a youth resource centre based in Kigali which primarily supports young people who have been orphaned, neglected or left in very difficult conditions, particularly as a result of the 1994 genocide.
