To celebrate my 70th birthday, but more particularly to raise funds for the Medical Foundation For The Care Of Victims Of Torture I will be walking the Hadrian's Wall Path (84 miles), starting May11th. The Medical Foundation is an excellent charity, the only one of its kind in the UK, but it receives no government or statutory aid and is entirely dependent upon voluntary donations.
My original target was £500, but I'm very pleased to say that thanks to the generosity of my friends I've achieved that, so I have increased my target to £750, and now again to £1000!!

I'm very glad to say that I have now finished the walk successfully. It was great, partly because the Wall is an amazing structure through wonderful country, and partly because I was extremely lucky with the weather, and only had one heavy shower!
