Before last April, I hadn't done any running, now I've somehow got myself signed up for a half marathon!

I chose to run for Tommy's because of the complications when Gracie was born. Helen had a placental abruption and it was only that it happened while we were in the hospital for a check up and that they were able to perform a crash casarean that thankfully it all ended up being ok.

We started to do some research into what causes placental abruptions to try to understand why this had happened, but there is no clear medically known reason. It was at that point that I decided that I wanted to try to do something to raise money to help research into this area. Tommy's is a charity that funds research into pregnancy problems, so felt like the natural choice.

 We were lucky, there are many that go through this that aren't as lucky as we were. That's why research into this area is so important, please sponsor me so that we can try to find out why these things happen with the hope that complications can be spotted early on and occurrences of placental abruptions reduced.
