Team Grand Slam are a group of enthusiastic yachtsmen and runners from Liverpool Yacht Club based in Liverpool Marina. The sailing and running team of 5 is made up of 3 sailors and 2 runners/cyclists, although the two runners also sail. We also have other people who are kindly helping with backup and support.

While the Three Peaks is a big challenge for us we are acutely aware that the illnesses of Alzheimer’s and Cancer are a massive challenge to those it affects and their respective family and friends.

It is fair to say that most of the team have experienced family or friends who have or have had one of these illnesses.

With this in mind we have chosen to raise as much as we can for our two named charities  Alzheimer’s Society and Macmillan Cancer Care.
