Story

ABOUT US
We are Kevin & Erica, we live in Redcar and are about to take on the most physical challenge of our lives.
On 30th September we are going to take part in the Great North Run 2007, all 13 miles of it! The reasons behind this are explained briefly below, but really this isn't about us, it's about the memory of a dear friend and raising a little money towards a charity that helped him immensely during his illness. Please read below and make a donation, you never know, if it goes well we may even do it again next year for one of the other charities, surely it's got to be worth a few pounds of your money to see us run till we drop.

THE INSPIRATION
The person behind this idea is Jimmy Griffiths, he was a top mate, a genuine person who would do anything to help anybody at anytime.
He was dealt a terrible hand with his illness and unfortunately it was to claim his life the day after his 21st birthday on 2nd June 2005.
Jimmy had spent time in and out of hospital due to treatment and illness, he got the most amazing support both from the hospital in the shape of the Nurses, Specialists and Macmillan Nurses, aswell as from the people at Rainbow Trust.
We recognise the help he received and want to use his memory as the strength to take on a physical task that could help raise money for one of the charities who helped him through so much.

THE CHARITY
Rainbow Trust Children's Charity provides practical and emotional support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. We support 1,000 families each year.
Rainbow Trust supports families for as long as they need us - from diagnosis, through the illness and beyond.
