Story
A gig full of breast cancer survivors and people whose relatives have been affected by breast cancer is going to take on the challenge of rowing from Clovelly to Lundy Island and back over the weekend of the 10th and 11th of July 2010 (weather dependent). Some of the crew are rowing because of what their family members have been through and some of the crew are rowing to show that you can lead an active and sporty life again after breast cancer. All of the crew are rowing for the personal challenge. We hope this will be an encouragement to those currently undergoing treatment.
The crossing of 14 miles out into the Bristol Channel is no mean feat and could take four hours in each direction (I did the row two years ago and it did indeed take over four hours to get out to the island!). The crew will camp overnight on Lundy before rowing back again the next day.
I will let you know how we get on!
BIG THANK YOU
Chrissie
