Thank you for visiting our Great South Run fundraising page. Please please sponsor us whatever you can - every little helps!! This is going to he a huge challenge and is for a really worthwhile cause - you'll be helping to pay for child to go to Lourdes at Easter in 2007 with the HCPT. We've both been training very hard and had to undergo several 'lifestyle changes' - thats before we turn up on the day to run 10miles!! Please do dig as deep as you can!

HCPT Group 206 was set up in 1999 by members of the Brentwood Youth Service who wanted to experience Lourdes with their own family group, having travelled as a support group for many years. The debut pilgrimage to Lourdes by the Group was in 2000, and, the Group have travelled every year since. Based in and around the Brentwood Diocese area, helpers & children are drawn from Colchester, Billericay, Romford, Grays, Southend and South and East London.

The groups colour is orange (with a little yellow and light blue), and, whilst not a popular choice with the fashion police, it certainly makes the group stand out in a crowd! We'll be wearing orange for the GSR so look out for us on the Channel 5 special on the evening of the race!

The HCPT takes thousands of children with disabilities or special needs on a pilgrimage holiday to Lourdes in France. The children travel in small family-style groups with experienced volunteer helpers, doctors, nurses and chaplains. Helpers pay for themselves, but all children are paid for through fundraising by the Trust and by helpers in each group.

Group 206 takes a mixed group of 6-8 young people each year to Lourdes for a week they will never forget. It costs £550 to take each child in 2007- we want to pay for at least 2 children to go to Lourdes next year by completing the Great South Run!
