Story

London Marathon 2011

Thank you for logging onto this site.  Sue Holmes is running the London Marathon in 2011 and would like to add to the money already raised for MND and through the Westgarth Fund.  The two Sues' were friends and running partners for many years and the first marathon that Sue H ran was the London Marathon in 2004.  She was coached and bullied into this by Sue W!

It seemed fitting to run this years marathon in memory of Sue - so please help this very worthy and worthwhile cause and help to make the miles of training even more worthwhile.

Thank you

Sue Holmes

The Great Westgarth Run  took place on 28th March at Friends' School in Saffron Walden.  This was in tribute to a very special lady.  Sue Westgarth has been a teacher for some years and in that time has inspired countless children, of all abilities to run.  Cross country running was no longer the dreaded lesson with Sue, she ran with the children, encouraged them and cheered with them when they won their many trophies.

Sue was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease recently and so we want to raise as much money as possible to try and find some treatment for this cruel disease.

We had the most fantastic day with over 500 runners and walkers taking part and Sue was able to attend with Murphy, her dog.

We are so grateful to everybody who took part or who has donated to this very worthwhile cause and we have to date raised a huge total of £15,150.00!  The money is being split between the Cambridgshire branch of MND who have been so supportive to Sue and the national MNDA.

We have been completely overwhelmed by the support and thank everyone so much who has supported us to raise this money.  We are still collecting so please do keep donating if you are able!

Thank you!!
