Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Rotary-Ironman Triathlon Charities gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
After raising £1,832 last year by competing in my first Ironman events I initially decided {sorry my wife decide for me} that I should have a quite year this year, but after entering the 70.3 Ironman at Wimbleball due to take place in June, I then managed to convince her that as I now had all the gear what a shame it would bo to leave it all in the shed for the rest of the year. So she reluctantly agreed and I entered the full Ironman which will take place on the 7th September at Sherborne.
So you can imagine her supprise {which I think soon turned to joy} when I phoned her from Wimbleball and informed her that I had infact qualified for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Florida. which will take place on the 8th November.
As a result I will no longer take part in the Sherborne race but will be racing and rasing money for charity in Florida instead.
My chosen charities this year are the Somerset and Dorset Air ambulance and the Marie Curie Cancer Care,
So, I am very aware that every thing is a bit tight at the moment but, at the end of the day
"I'll take the pain so others can gain"
