Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.

Story

UK IRONMAN 7th SEPTEMBER 2008

After 6 months training, 1900 miles cycled, 22,000 kiliometres swam and 400 miles run the deed is done, 13hrs 3 mins to complete and an amazing experience.

Its one of the hardest challenges I have done as I'm sure all those who took part would agree, 1298 started the race1193 finished.

I came 51st in my age group and 692 overall, had a puncture on the cycle route which was annoying after not having one at all in all the miles covered during training.

The hardest part for me was the last 8 mile lap of the 26 mile marathon route, the old legs struggled after going out to hard on the cycle section trying to make up time for the puncture repair.

My split times:

2.4 mile lake swim: 1hr 15 mins.

112 cycle: 6hrs 45 mins.

26.2 miles run: 4hrs 45 mins.

Many thanks to all that sponsored me for the Sue Ryder Care The Chantry.
