Hello, On 5th September 2008 I will be attempting to run a slightly elongated 'marathon' of 30 miles as a support leg of a much larger challenge that my good friend Tom Beaver is undertaking. Tom will be attempting to break the world record in the Enduroman Arch to Arc Triathlon - an event that only 4 people have ever completed. This ultra-triathlon is one of the world's most challenging solo endurance events and will see Tom running 87 miles from Marble Arch in London to the Dover coast, swimming 22 miles across the English Channel before cycling 180 miles from Calais to the finish line at the Arc de Triomphe. For more information see Tom's website at www.runningbeaver.co.uk Tom is not just running the event for an attempt on a world record, he will be doing it in memory of his cousin (and good friend) Blake Hartley who tragically went missing on his birthday in France in 2004 and who's body has only just recently been recovered. Throughout the mammoth challenge, Blake will be his motivation to continue. I am delighted to have the opportunity to assist with Tom's challenge in some small way. Though dwarfed by what lies ahead for Tom, 30 miles of running represents a significant personaI challenge for me and will no doubt bring with it a good dose of pain! I will be digging deep to achieve my goal - please also dig deep by sponsoring me online. All the money raised will go directly to Tom's chosen charity Missing People (see description to the left) and will assist him reaching his personal target of £10,000. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Missing People gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please sponsor me now! Best regards, Gregg
