Hello

I've decide to run the Edinburgh Marathon in 2010 to help support Bobath Scotland which is a children's therapy centre ,which Greta attends, who do a lot of amazing work with kids (and their parents).

In the build up to the marathon, I've got a series of other races, you can read my race reports on each of these on the Portobello Running Club website www.portobellorunners.co.uk . The races are:

1 - Dursley Dozen 12 miles - 14 Feb - Finish Time 1h 35m 20s

2 - Lasswade 10 miles - 7 Mar - Finish Time 1h 6m 51 s

3 - Alloa Half Marathon - 21 Mar - Finish Time 1h 30m 29s

4 - White Horse 10km - 3 Apr - Finish Time 40m 13s

5 - Sir Chris Hoy Edinburgh Half Marathon  - 18 April - Finish Time 1h 28m 02s

6 - Edinburgh to North Berwick 20 miles - 1 May - Finish Time 2h 30m 28s

7 - Edinburgh Marathon - 23 May - Target Time 3h 30 m

I've put in a fair bit of training in 2009 running 900 miles, over 122 hours, burning 132,000 calories and losing almost 25% of my body weight. I've had to increase the training in 2010 and during the first three months I've ran 570 miles over 78 hours.  But it still seems like a huge challenge!  So I need as much encouragement as possible!

The just giving website tells us:

'Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.  So please dig deep and donate now.'

Thanks again for visiting, and what ever amount you donate it really does make a difference!

All the best

Ian (and a big thanks to Thea, Greta and Beatrice who  all put up with my running chatter and injury moans!)
