80th Charity Challenge
2014 is a landmark year for Griffiths & Armour as we celebrate our 80th year in business. To align with the anniversary, members of our staff are taking on a number of challenges, to help us reach our target of raising £80,000 between our two chosen charities - Prostate Cancer UK and KIND.
There are a number of events taking place throughout the year, and a number of staff are going to be getting their walking gear on to take part in this years Wirral Coastal walk in May, with a view to raising £100 for each of the 15 miles walked, although clearly if we can get more this would be a fantastic result.
As a company, we are raising money for the 2 charities, however we have chosen to do the walk for Prostate Cancer UK, with a number of other events already being held for both charities.
Other planned events throughout the group include cycling 80 miles, taking on 10k runs and saving our 20p pieces in Smarties tubes; we already have many staff and partners of the firm supporting us in our quest to raise our target. If you would like to learn more about how you can support and help fundraise for what are two very great causes, please contact us on 80challenge@griffithsandarmour.com.
KIND needs all our help with the running of their seed centre and during the summer they run a residential experience for children. That experience involves children being taken on a week’s adventure, taking part in all kinds of activities they would never have experienced, developing their outlook and confidence. We hope to raise £24,000 by June which would enable 80 children to go along, and then move on to fundraising for their Christmas Hamper Appeal.
In 2012 Prostate Cancer UK moved their research funding to a new level; thanks to the income raised by the Movember Foundation they have committed over £7 million to new research in each of the next three years. The research strategy outlines how, by the year 2020, they can best invest this sum to achieve real differences for men affected by prostate cancer.
Thank you for taking the time to visit the site and for your support.
