Vodafone Foundation are currently raising funds for their All Together Now campaign, to help more young refugees achieve their dreams through access to quality education, by expanding Instant Network Schools, a joint programme with UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency.

Story

The Vodafone Foundation Moyo Lesotho Challenge:

Why are we raising money?

- Moyo Lesotho is about getting a generation of young people living with HIV onto treatment
- 41,000 children and young people under 16 living with HIV in Lesotho – only 5,000 receive treatment
- HIV rate in Lesotho is 23%  - 1 in 4 people
- Drugs are available through donor funded programmes but the majority of these young people can’t access treatment…

- Treatment is difficult as many people live in rural areas and cannot afford the costs of transport to the clinics
- Weak health systems, lack of health workers in rural areas and delays to diagnostic test results

How  is your donation going to help?

-
Testing: results will be sent via mobile getting children on treatment quickly
- Transport: travel funds will be sent via M-pesa, so children can travel to the hospital to receive life-saving treatment
- Treatment: sending mobile clinics to rural areas and connecting them via mobile will bring life-saving care further and faster than ever before.
