Moebius Syndrome is a rare congenital disorder which to date, has no cure. It affects primarily the 6th & 7th cranial nerves, which means that those with the condition are unable to move their faces (can't smile, frown, suck, grimace or blink eyes). We aim to raise £250,000 to fund research into the cause of Moebius.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

240 miles of training over 19 weeks and Im really looking forwards to this Sunday and running the Nottingham Half Marathon.  My progress was slightly scuppered last week with a severe bowel infection (mmmm nice!) but Im still hoping for a good time but most of all to have fun and raise some funds for Moebius syndrome.

Why? - well its simple.... because of a relative of mine was born with it - a beautiful little boy, but the most striking thing you would notice if you met him would be his inability to smile due to Moebius.

Imagine NEVER being able to smile or show changes in your facial expression - it is amazing how much we rely on facial clues as a form of communication in humans.

Moebius syndrome is a rare congenital disorder which sadly to date has no cure. We believe there are only around 200 cases in the UK, so not many people have heard of this condition.  To find out more about Moebius click on the link on the left-hand side.
