The Great Gorilla Run · 25 September 2005 ·

With just over 1000 mountain gorillas left in the world and 3 subspecies now critically endangered it is vital we do everything we can to save gorillas from extinction. We protect them from poachers, safeguard their forest home and improve livelihoods in local communities. Will you join us?

Story

I have no idea who or what will be visiting this page - so I'll assume that I'm a complete stranger and just give a little bit of background. I'm a 24 year old male from Essex, who has never attempted any kind of charity fundraising activity before. However, when I heard about the Great Gorilla Run through a work colleague, I knew I'd found my niche. The Dian Fossey organisation works tirelessly to help the few remaining mountain gorillas in the world escape extinction. For more information on how you can get involved please visit www.dianfossey.org

The Great Gorilla Run will see hundreds of people running (or in my case, walking probably) around a 7km course in Central London on the 25/9/05, dressed in gorilla outfits to raise money that will go directly towards the preservation of gorillas in Central Africa. It might not sound like much, being a short course and all, but when you consider my general lack of fitness and being dressed head to toe in fur, it's going to be a jungle out there...

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Hit the 'SPONSER ME NOW' button now, and hopefully we'll raise more than peanuts!
