On May 31 this year, Jon Sleg and I will be driving a Nissan 350Z at the Spa-Francorchamps racetrack in Belgium. For a £2 donation directly to charity, you can guess our fastest laptime, with a great prize for the person closest to our time. The car will be fitted with a VBox+ and the fastest lap will be filmed and posted online. You can have multiple guesses at £2 a time, with all proceeds going to Wishes4Kids, a charity that grants wishes of terminally ill children. The winner will get a 1 year subscription to 3 great Car Magazines. *The winner gets a year's subscription to Evo and Practical Performance Car and Banzai Magazines ! *
In the event of a tie and/or multiple people guessing the exact time correctly, the first person to have entered wins. For those unfamiliar with the car / circuit, here is some info to help you guess an appropriate time :
Spa-Francorchamps is 4.352 miles long with 21 corners. The current lap record is Seb Vettel at 1 minute 47.263 seconds in a Red Bull Formula 1 car. The famously tricky Au Rouge corner has made me sick in my helmet before. Our Nissan 350Z has 296 BHP and a top speed limited to 155 mph. Sleg sometimes needs to stop for a wee mid lap.
You can enter by donating a minimum of £2 per guess (or equivalent in local currency €2 / 20 Krona / $2 etc). Add your full name together with your guess(es) in the following format –
For one guess - “Fred Smith / 4 minutes 2.765 secs / £2 donated”.
For two guesses - “Jane Smith / 2 minutes 30.001 secs and 2 minutes 59.882 secs / £4 donated”.
Feel free to donate more than the minimum of £2, for a small charity Wishes4Kids have done some great stuff for terminally ill kids, and I can assure you they genuinely appreciate your support.
The results will be posted here and published together with a short YouTube video after the event. Good luck and thanks for supporting a great charity. We're off to polish our helmets...
Thank you !
Rich Duisberg and Jon Sleg.

PPS - Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
