The Gumboots Foundation (UK) is a small charity supporting projects in South Africa working to alleviate poverty. Gumboots provides avenues for people living in the UK who are interested in making a difference to the countrys future. By supporting community based projects with local leadership Gumboots helps change the life chances of some of the countrys poorest people.

<div id="yiv1178165778yui_3_2_0_15_131482435320137" style="right: auto;">Hello gentle folk from near and far,</div> <div id="yiv1178165778yui_3_2_0_15_131482435320153">&nbsp;</div> <div id="yiv1178165778yui_3_2_0_15_131482435320155" style="right: auto;">The time has come for the <strong id="yiv1178165778yui_3_2_0_16_1315084934843208" style="right: auto;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Bi-Annual Gumboots UK Physical Fundraiser.&nbsp; </span></strong></div> <div id="yiv1178165778yui_3_2_0_15_13148243532011669">&nbsp;</div> <div id="yiv1178165778yui_3_2_0_15_13148243532011671">In&nbsp;2007, we scaled the UKs 3 peaks&nbsp;&nbsp;(in 24hours).&nbsp; There were sleepless nights, unforgiving&nbsp;climbs and a dislocated little finger, pointing at right angles.&nbsp;</div> <div id="yiv1178165778yui_3_2_0_15_13148243532011679">&nbsp;</div> <div id="yiv1178165778yui_3_2_0_15_13148243532011681">In 2009, it was John O'Groats to Lands end, comprising of gruelling 100+ mile days, lycra-coated bum cheeks of steel and&nbsp;a broken hip&nbsp;after a nasty fall on a slippery cattle grid.</div> <div id="yiv1178165778yui_3_2_0_15_13148243532011686">&nbsp;</div> <div id="yiv1178165778yui_3_2_0_15_13148243532011688" style="right: auto;">In 2011, On September 24th prepare yourself for the ultimate <strong>BRIGHTON BIATHALON</strong>.&nbsp; This year we are emphasising community spirit&nbsp;and mass participation as opposed to resilience and pain (two themes which predominated during&nbsp;the previous fundraisers.)&nbsp;</div> <div style="right: auto;">The event will take place between the beach opposite 'The View' pub in West Hove (100m west of King Alfreds leisue centre), and the Hove Angel statue.&nbsp; It will basically consist of a 3-4 mile run around the Angel&nbsp;followed by a sea swim around the buoy (500-800m).&nbsp; You can enter as a tag team duo- one runner, one swimmer or do both legs yourself.&nbsp;Walkers and paddlers are encouraged so please&nbsp;join in&nbsp;even if you prefer to do a mini version.&nbsp;&nbsp;We will then enjoy&nbsp;burgers on the beach (veggie option available)&nbsp;and drinks at The View Pub.&nbsp; If 20 people enter and get &pound;10 sponsorship, that's &pound;200... but the more the merrier.&nbsp; There will be a mystery prize for the winners.</div> <div id="yiv1178165778yui_3_2_0_15_13148243532013664">&nbsp;</div> <div id="yiv1178165778yui_3_2_0_15_13148243532013669">The&nbsp;event will start at 3pm outside The View Pub.&nbsp; If you can't make it but feel like sponsoring the event, please do.</div> <div>Warm wishes</div> <div>Arthur and crew</div> <p>&nbsp;</p>
