Hadrian's Wall 2009
On 6th June 2009 four of us walked 24 miles along the central section of Hadrian's Wall in full Roman legionary armour to raise money for Ward 8 (Haematology) at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. The walk was in memory of our friend (and lover of all things pink) Polly Lander who received such amazing care and suppport there. We were supported by 8 friends who joined us on the walk as well as Joan and George, Polly's parents who saved us with soup and bread at Steel Rigg. 10 hours after starting and having fended off some very inquisitive cows we marched, a little slowly, into Greenhead.
You can still donate! Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Newcastle Healthcare Charity gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. Although the charity covers a number of hospitals we have agreed that the funds will be dedicated to Ward 8 at the RVI. All the money raised will go to the charity and none will be used to defray costs. In addition my employer, Venture Production plc has generously agreed to match the first £500 raised £ for £.
Thank you for your support.
