Story

Hi, thanks for visiting our fundraising page!

Since the start of this year we have been training really hard for this challenge. In March, we completed the Stafford Half Marathon (NON STOP!) as part of our training, have since climbed Snowdon and undertaken regular gym sessions.

At 19,340 ft Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest free standing mountain in the world and by climbing to the summit we hope to raise £5000 for Diabetes UK. Diabetes is a serious condition affecting around 2 million people of all ages in the UK.

Deb has had Type 1 Diabetes for 22 years and monitors her blood glucose levels regularly. Until November 2008, she had several injections daily and now regulates her blood glucose with the aid of a pump.

Laura is well aware of the effects of living with diabetes and is keen to support her mum in this endeavour.

Finding a cure needs a tremendous amount of research which of course requires funding and we would be very grateful for your generous support!

Many thanks,

Deb and Laura
